CAPSTONE EDUCATIONAL PARTNERS, LLC (CEP), a wholly owned subsidiary of J Mitchell Advisors, LLC, provides specialized accredited advanced continuing education courses. These courses address and analyze the unique problems, practices, rights, remedies, disputes, claims, and other demands faced by Construction Professionals, Architects, Engineers, Attorneys and Municipalities working within the fields of Construction, Land Development, Construction Claims and Construction Defect  Litigation.

Recognizing that a significant need exists for specially tailored, advanced programs, devoted exclusively to those involved in the construction or related industries, CEP has developed a number of course syllabi designed not only to provide the Continuing Education Credits needed but also to be a truly informative and educational.   Most established providers place emphasis on selling continuing education credits, CEP places its emphasis and concentration on delivering relevant topics that provide the professional with up to date information on best practices and ethical considerations within their field while fulfilling their licensures obligations.

Concentrating on advanced construction issues, CEP analyzes the unique problems, practices, rights, remedies, disputes, claims, and other demands faced by today's construction professionals. All topics are presented from the specialized perspectives of owners, contractors, subcontractors, and legal advisors.

CEP also provides custom seminars designed to meet a firm’s individual needs. Recent custom seminars included Arizona Lien Laws, Managing High Rise Projects, AIA contracts and forms as well as Design Management/Program Management.  Our current curriculum includes topics on: construction defects, defect litigation, construction liens and lien laws, claims, claims analysis/preparation/defense/negotiation, program and design management, project management/construction management, risk management, urban development, multi-family and mixed use development, commercial/retail/office and public works.

Our faculty is headed by Chief Learning Officer, Ms. Cindy Cook, who comes to the firm with over 20 years experience in traditional and distance learning. Ms. Cook was Vice President of Operations for Options for Education for 4 years. Prior to that Ms. Cook served as Chairperson of one of the largest School Districts in the State of Oregon as well as Chaired the County Finance Committee for two years. Ms. Cook is recognized nationally as a leading authority on continuing education and distance learning. Ms. Cook holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Science and Psychology from Marylhurst University and did her graduate work at Lewis and Clark University.
